“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” Corrie ten Boom
Faith is the ability to trust God for every aspect of our life. It appears at times that faith is easily executed or seen. When things are going well and we are on top of the world it doesn’t require faith. It is when we face life’s challenges and hard ache that our faith is tested. No matter how long you have believed in God your faith in the God will be tried. It is during these times we must believe God all the more. The question becomes why faith is such a struggle during times of challenges. Faith becomes a struggle for two reasons; fear the unknown and a lack of control. Fear of the unknown is when you don’t know how things will turn out. You don’t have an idea if you are going to fail or succeed. I remember when I moved to a new state for a new career opportunity. There was fear of the unknown of whether I was going to survive and be successful. Just the fact that I was moving to a place where I didn’t know anyone took immense faith in God that I would survive but more importantly thrive.
Faith is a challenge when we find ourselves in a situation where we are not in control. The outcome of a situation is not our final decision. For instance when you are faced with a loved one’s illness it’s a situation whether God’s sovereign will prevails and it may be contrary to your desire. It takes faith when you don’t have the control in your hand for the final decision or outcome. This is when faith must rise to the forefront of your spirituality.
Finally faith is a spiritual commodity as it gets us through the most difficulty times in life. Tested faith draws us closer to God and causes us to lean not on our ability but God’s sovereign will and strength. The beauty of faith is that God desires for us to believe upon Him by leaning upon Him during times of uncertainty. More importantly when your future is unknown have faith in God!!!!
