Positive affirmation is a force that propels people to believe in their dreams and goals. It is important that you practice positive affirmations. Positive affirmation is simply speaking words that lift and inspire yourself or others. There is so much negativity in our lives every day. Negativity is all around us and it can pull your energy level down. On the other I encourage you to rise every morning and speak words of inspiration and hope. Positive affirmation should be thoughts and proclamation of your expectations and hope. For example if you are a student in school, positive affirmation is stating “I will obtain my college degree….” Positive affirmation is not about being unrealistic and making statements to just to make a statement. But positive affirmation is about you increasing your faith and belief in what truly is possible. You have to believe in yourself and in your dreams and if you don’t believe first by affirming that it can and will happen then others certainly will not believe. I recall being a student in college I will always quote the bible verse “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” The more I would speak those words my faith and confidence in my ability to learn and achieve good grades grew. After a while I truly experienced success academically.
Also giving other positive affirmation is important. You will assist and help others to increase their confident and self-esteem. As a parent you should affirm your child when he or she does great in school. Let them know that they can learn, tell them they are smart and capable of learning. I observed a mother recently speaking to her son about his future and she asked him what would he be when he grew up and he replied “I will be successful and I will be somebody.” His mother started telling him those words from the day he was born and now in the 4th grade these words are now embedded in his spirit and soul.
