John 16:13 (NIV) But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
“…but you have to make the right choices and follow that still, small voice within you. Because I think that’s how God leads us.” Joel Osteen
There are so many voices that speak to us throughout the day. We are constantly bombarded with messages coming from different places telling us what to do and where to go. I am learning the power of being still and listening to that still small voice that lies in the abyss of my soul. That voice whispers in a peaceful and an uneventful manner leading me in the direction I should take. It’s a voice of tranquility and commonness. I am learning that the still small voice can only be heard when I seek to hear it and give it my attention. What is that voice? It is the Holy Spirit. It lives in us for the purpose of comfort and guidance. Thus when you are faced with a decision and you don’t know what to do learn to steal away and get in a place of quietness and stillness to hear the still small voice. When you do you will know the direction to take. Don’t focus on speaking in that moment of quietness but focus on listening and silencing your mind and words so you can hear clearly the still small voice. It is in quietness and stillness that we will find that God speaks volume.
